LinkedIn carousel: turn slides into a PDF, free

On LinkedIn, a carousel is a PDF posted as a document: each page becomes a slide people swipe through. Drop your slides here, in order, and get the PDF ready to post.

Format

Your pictures stay in your browser; they are never uploaded.

How to post a carousel on LinkedIn

  1. Make the slides at 1080 × 1350 (4:5) - it takes the most of a phone's screen. All the same size.
  2. Put them into one PDF, one page per slide - with the tool above or straight from the Cadru editor.
  3. On LinkedIn: Start a post → + → Add a document → pick the PDF.
  4. Give the document a title: it shows above the carousel, and many people forget it.
  5. Add the post's text - the first lines matter - and publish.

What makes a good LinkedIn carousel

  • The first slide is the hook: a clear promise or a question, in big type.
  • One idea per slide. If you have to zoom to read it, the type is too small.
  • A swipe cue on the first slide (→) and page numbers (3/8) keep people going to the end.
  • Put your photo and name on every slide: carousels get shared, and the author should stay visible.
  • The last slide asks for something: follow, save, comment.

Questions

How do I make a carousel on LinkedIn?

Make the slides as pictures (ideally 1080 × 1350), put them into one PDF and upload it as a document: Start a post → + → Add a document. Each page of the PDF becomes a slide.

What size is a LinkedIn carousel?

Best is 1080 × 1350 px (4:5), which takes the most of a phone's screen. 1080 × 1080 (1:1) works too. Every page should be the same size.

How many pages can it have?

LinkedIn takes large documents, but people drop off fast: 6-12 slides work best.

Can I use the same slides as on Instagram?

Yes. The 4:5 and 1:1 formats are the same, so an Instagram carousel becomes a LinkedIn one just by putting it into a PDF.

Do you upload my pictures?

No. The PDF is made in your browser and the pictures never leave your device.
